It’s been a while since I posted here regarding the journey with the Metabolic Balance program, though there are many posts on our social media regarding this. I started Feb 12 and here we are at April 16. When I was just 3 weeks into the program I dropped a staggering 8 pounds – and I was eating and eating. I couldn’t believe it.
Worried that I was losing muscle mass, I went out and got a DEXA scan again – only a few weeks after my Jan 30 scan. Usually you wait at least three months between those scans to notice any difference. This was barely 5 weeks. On Jan 30 I had a body fat percentage reading of 16.8% (darn good). On March 6th, after 3 weeks eating the MB way, I was 12.9%!!! AND I gained 4 lbs of lean tissue in that same time. No loss. Not losing muscle mass.
I’m convinced. This is the way I’ll be structuring my meals for the rest of my lifetime. After the first few weeks the program starts to ease and you get a treat meal a week – eat whatever you like for that meal, program begins again the next meal. I don’t feel deprived of anything. I will admit, in the last 3 weeks I have let my treat meals become treat days. I feel like a I need to reset and take a more healthy (emotionally and physically) approach to them, so I’m restarting the program from Phase 1 on Saturday April 17th.
Basically I go back to no treat meals for a couple of weeks and start with a cleanse once more. I have a little goal to hit the lower WAKO fight class weight -not that we’re fighting any time soon, I just want to see if I can do it.
Initially I thought the weighing of the food and the proportion structure was a pain in the butt, however the results are astounding. A handful of my clients have joined me on the program and are seeing great results. Other members of my team are on board, or about to be.
The only caveat to any program is that, well, you actually have to follow it. 2 months in and it’s just a habit now. It’s The New Me lol.
I can’t wait to see what the next DEXA says. That update will be coming soon. Scan date: May 8th.
Some of the meals I’ve been eating on the plan!
